Fallen

1998

In this 35mm film projection the translucent image of a wing in endless and silent motion moved across the façade of the Henry Moore Institute in Leeds, animating the gallery’s exterior and the night time city from dusk until midnight. The architectural context for the installation was the adjacent war memorial and the polished black granite surface of the institute, which acted as a ‘screen’ for the projection suggesting, the relationship between the institutions of art and architecture, the body, conflict and mortality.
